General Manager, SGDA

The Scottish Game Developers Association champions Scottish videogame development through events, shared knowledge, a collective industry voice, and pathways into the sector.

Role Basis

• Half-time (approx. 18 hours per week), flexible hours, remote, but with occasional travel (mainly within Scotland, with possible UK/international events)
• Package: Initial 12 month contract paying £15k-20k depending on experience (pro rata of £30-40k FTE).

The General Manager will:

• Work closely with SGDA trustees to deliver on the organisation’s strategy.
• Organise events and community activities as agreed with the trustees, including delivering the SGDA Accelerator programme.
• Create and coordinate social media and PR activities to promote SGDA / its activities and its members.
• Maintain the SGDA website, ensuring content is up-to-date and relevant.
• Maintain regular communication with all SGDA members, ensuring trustees are aware of member priorities and concerns.
• Grow SGDA membership through targeted outreach and engagement.
• Manage all incoming enquiries and act as a primary point of contact.
• Organise trustee meetings, prepare agendas, and ensure follow-up actions are completed.
• Grow and manage a network of volunteers to support SGDA activities.
• Collate data and research on the industry landscape to inform organisational decision-making.
• Represent SGDA at industry events, networking on behalf of the organisation.

What type of person do we need?

• Reliable, organised, able to prioritise and work to deadlines
• Based in Scotland
• Self-motivated and proactive with a passion for the games industry.
• Minimum 2 years experience in a games related role
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and in a small team
